Brake Systems

THE VGX BRAKE PAD PROGRAM includes Premium Ceramic, Premium Semi-Metallic, Mid-Grade Ceramic, and Severe Duty formulations. Each line of pads feature proprietary friction formulas, unique shims, and a patented shim attachment process resulting in a noiseless, extremely low dusting brake pad with industry leading performance and wear characteristics. Our VGX Brake Pad Program is the only line to offer 100% mechanically attached shims. In addition, these integrally molded pads follow original equipment design specifications in areas such as chamfering, slotting and wear sensor design.

VGX COMPLETE BRAKE KITS: AutoPartSource also offers our often imitated VGX "Clamshell" Brake Pad Kit. However, VGX brake kits are the only kits that come complete with all the necessary hardware to do a trouble-free brake job. The VGX Clamshell Kit includes: VGX Premium Pads with shim attached, a complete hardware kit and a tube of caliper grease. All components of these kits are clearly visible because they are shrink-wrapped on protective cardboard before being slid inside the informative graphic box.

PERFORMANCE PLUS BRAKE PADS: For the economy minded, our Performance Plus line offers an entry level semi-metallic brake pad. These brake pads are manufactured with the same time-tested formula as their great performing VGX counterparts. The Performance Plus Brake Pads have been recently expanded to over 275+ part numbers, are slotted and chamfered to OE specifications, and are non-shimmed.

The different pad grades are denoted by their prefix:

  • "CE" - Ceramic - pads only in a box package
  • "VP"..."K" - Premium Ceramic - pads with hardware in a "clamshell" package
  • "MF" - Metallic - pads only in a box package
  • "MF"..."K" - Metallic - pads with hardware in a "clamshell" package
  • "SD" - Severe Duty pads only in a box package
  • "DFM" - Performance Plus Metallic

Brake Rotors/Drums

THE VGX PLATINUM SERIES ROTOR is our premium line, and after undergoing a recent makeover the best has just gotten better. The newly improved rotors now have more carbon content, painted hubs, and a new dry-oil protection coating. The new Carbon+ Rotor now services the vehicle even better, with optimal thermal conductivity, and a higher resistance to distortion and thermal cracking. The new and improved dry-oil protection coating protects longer than even our latest phosphate coating. Dipped and not sprayed, the dry-oil finish protects fabulously on both vented and non-vented rotors. VGX Premium Platinum Series Rotors are "Ready-To-Go", no need for washing before installation. Out-of the-Tub and on the vehicle: How much easier can it get! VGX Platinum Series Rotors are available in over 400 different part numbers for the most popular late model passenger and light truck vehicles.

THE PERFOMANCE PLUS BRAKE DRUM & ROTORS are globally manufactured under strict ISO standards and meets SAE J431 standards. Although priced as an economy rotor, Performance Plus drums and rotors are 100% inspected for accuracy of bolt holes, center holes, TIR (Total Indicated Run-Out), thickness, diameter, and weight. The bottom line - Performance Plus drums and rotors meet or exceed all original equipment standards. The different drums and rotors are denoted by their prefix:

THE AUTOPARTSOURCE EXHAUST PROGRAM has been built to cover the most often replaced exhaust parts. This "short" line program consists of welded assemblies, flex tubes and gaskets.

ASSEMBLIES: Welded Exhause Assembly With over 300 SKUs, our welded assemblies cover a wide range of both domestic and import vehicles. Assembled in the United States (Hopkinsville, Kentucky), these quality systems will bolt-up-to (and interchange easily) to AP, Walker, Arvin, Maremont, and many other common systems. Each system is vehicle tested before being released for sale in the program, and with consistent quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process you are assured the right part and the right fit every time.

FLEX TUBES: Felx Tube Offered in a wide range from 1.75" to 3" diameters, you are covered for all the most popular automobile and light truck applications. Using only 409 grade stainless the AutoPartSource flex program is a high quality, worry-free product. With direct input and suggestions from our exhaust customers, our flex tubes are also available with inner braids and tube ends on most part numbers.

GASKETS: Exhaust Gasket This is the newest addition to the AutoPartSource exhaust program. Consisting of the most popular part numbers (30 SKUs) for import and domestic automobiles and light trucks. The exhaust gaskets can be purchased both individually and bulk boxed.
